Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly book meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read (or any random book your 2 year old hands you)
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I picked mine this week because my toddler handed the book to me randomly. It's not a novel but I have found it a good flick though with some really good quotes. My mum bought this for me many many moons ago with "All the advice I forgot to tell you... Oops. Love Mum" written in the cover.
There are no page numbers so I am just taking one random quote from the "For my daughter" Section and one from the "For my son" section.
“Don't talk to children in coochie-woochie baby voices (it shits me)"
"Don't wax your chest (Or legs or arms. Unless you're and olympic swimmer or ballet dancer, then I'll understand. Somehow.)"

I sometimes wonder what effect 'baby talk' has on language development in infants. I've read that babies respond better to words in a higher register, but then again most people don't go around speaking in an artificially higher pitch.
Ha! This one sounds interesting. I can't stand baby talk either. I don't know why but I feel like talking to babies like they speak a different language isn't helping anyone.
what a wonderfull teaser!
Have a great tuesday

I have to wholeheartedly agree, lol. Waxing is evil and baby talk does not help babies.

LOL coochie-woochie baby voice? LOL That cracked me up.
The waxing comment for boys is hilarious! Thanks for the chuckles, and also for visiting my blog earlier today.
Ha, are the (comments) yours or from the book? Love it! Coochie-woochie sounds dirty somehow... :)
