Happy Blog Hop Friday!

This is my first Friday blog hop where I get to show off my new blog!

So much has been happening lately I have neglected my blog a bit, only having time on Fridays to join in the blog hops.

There are some major changes happening in my life which will hopefully have my blog black on track and getting at least a review a week up. I have some planned for December so please keep an eye out. I may even do a giveaway for Christmas so keep an eye out on my giveaway page.

Since I don't have a review I will do something a little unrelated just because I am so happy with how life is turning at the moment I need to show it off a little :)

My week so far....

I waited for 3 days for my new dining table to be delivered, the couriers kept calling to say it would come on certain days then it wouldn't. Very annoying but once it finally got here my kids were so delighted that my son and I picked out place mats and he set the table once we came home (he is 5 and I didn't even know he knew how to set a table.)

The significance of the dining table is that we haven't had one that we sat at for dinner since my son was born. Now that he is heading off to school next year I want us to all sit and eat together properly which seems to be working well so far.

I got myself a new job! I work in a high stress environment at the moment so I have applied for a million and one things (I would have been happy to scrub dishes at this point, just to lower my stress levels) So in early December I will be working for Maccas! I know it may sound strange to be excited by that, but it's a job where I don't have to deal with as much crap as I do now and I can be trained to move up in the food chain without it taking over my entire life like me current job has. My son has already asked if he can come to work with me though, and my husband says he wants free food :/ I think I will just be banning Maccas food all together once I work there.

Other than that we are getting into the spirit of Christmas and have been making a glittery mess all over the place. We have also invested in new Christmas decorations this year.

I would say around 5-6 months. So I am not as established as most but I keep plugging away and trying to get this blog of mine going.

Since Thanksgiving is coming up next week, let's use this week's Hop to share what we are most thankful for and what our holiday traditions are!

I am an Aussie, so don't follow any traditions due to not celebrating Thanksgiving. But I am always thankful for good friends, family and being able to spend time with both.

A massive thank you!

As some of you may have noticed my blog has had a pretty big face lift over the last 24 hours.

I am totally rapt with how it has turned out and wanted to give a big thank you to Danny from Dreamy Blog Designs!

She has done an amazing job and I can't praise her enough for her efforts in getting my blog to the state that I wanted it.

HA! That's too funny. I have no budget, although at the moment I am on a book buying ban (self imposed) due to my TBR pile being so high (that is in the physical sense, I fear it may avalanche on one of the children :P)
I normally buy a book a week. Nothing too exxy mostly only things that are under $15 unless it's a new release that I absolutely can't live without.

Crazy For Books hosts the one and only weekend long book blog hop. The question of the week over that way is If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?

Absolutely yes! There is nothing worse than walking in mid conversation and I feel the same way about books. I would rather be there from the beginning.

Weekend Question

Liz at Cleverly Inked hosts a weekend question for us all to answer each week. It's always book related for all the book obsessed bloggers like me.

This weeks question is;

Do you prefer a male or female protagonist?

I personally don't mind. I actually love getting into the head of a male protagonist so long as it is written well. I obviously find it easier to relate to a female though.

When writing I always write as a female because I have yet to master writing a male lead.

So what's your preference?

I do admit that when I first figured out the whole following thing I followed a few blogs that I really wasn't that interested in so I culled a few. I didn't feel too bad though because they were not following me and they had many many many followers. 

I have had one person stop following me. It was a really odd guy who got pissed off when I didn't follow back or accept a Facebook friend invite straight away. He found my personal FB account not the one I use for my blog so I was actually glad he unfollowed me (hmmm is unfollowed a word?)

At the end of the day, I appreciate people taking the time to read my blog and follow on but I wont be offended if people do drop off the list because I will assume they have their reasons for doing so.

Weekend Question

Weekend Question is hosted by Liz at Cleverly Inked. I thought I would give it a whirl this week as I have enjoyed seeing some other posts from this weekly meme.

Do you judge a book by it's cover? If so which is your favorite?

I am terribly judgmental. I understand why publishers think book covers are so important, I will skim right by book if the cover doesn't catch my attention.
 
One cover that has caught my attention this weekend is 

I'm not afraid to say I think this cover is totally hot! I would buy this book just to stare at it while I had something tangible to hold at the time. I have tried to read a Gene Showalter book previously without much inclination to continue reading but this cover alone makes me want to give her another chance.
